Special meetings of the Committee Per State Per River-Sg. Kinta, was held on Tuesday 23 November 2010 at the operation room building, Perak Darul Ridzuan, Ipoh. The meeting was chaired by Y.B. Dato ' Dr Mah Hang Soon, State EXCO. In addition to representatives of government agencies who sits on A Committee of the State of A River, this special meeting was also attended by representatives from the industry, the Association of Manufacturers-Pegilang State of Perak and IWK to discuss issues relating to the pollution of the Kinta River arising from factories and sewage treatment plant. At the meeting, the State Department of environment presented statistics showing the BOD pollution contributors in the Kinta River is restaurants, wet markets and sewage treatment plant IWK. The meeting also Y.B. Dato ' Dr Mah Hang Soon have requested the Ipoh City Council (MBI) set up a Committee to plan for addressing pollution from restaurants and wet markets.
