A workshop "Study On Pollution Prevention And Water Quality Improvement of the Kinta River" has been successfully implemented at Hillcity Hotel on 29.06.2010. The workshop was attended by all stakeholders on the catchment areas of the Kinta River. Among others, the workshop aims to reveal the importance of the Kinta River as well as the Government's effort, in particular the Department of irrigation and drainage Perak in return the best water quality in the Kinta River. The workshop was attended by various Government and private agencies such as the Department of environment, Minerals & Geoscience, Department of Verterina, Department of agriculture, the State Education Department, Office of education, district of Kinta, Perak Tengah District Education Office, Indah Water Konsertium and the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) such as Faderal Manufactuaring Malaysia (FMM), the Global Environment Centre (GEC), the environmental Association of Perak (PAS) and head of the village around the basin of the Kinta River.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Director DID the State of Perak, Dato ' IR. Abdul Razak b. Dahalan. Between kpengisian implemented including the introduction of district Engineer talks DID Kinta/Batang Padang, talks of the environment by the Environmental Department of the State of Perak as well as Talks by the Ipoh City Council Engineering Department. The participants were divided into several groups to make training and present the results proposed in order to improve the water quality of the Kinta River.

Indeed, the workshop has attracted various layers and groups of society in order to work together in order to preserve and conserve the Kinta River.
