* Our rivers campaign ' ' State level was launched officially by Tan Seri Ramli Ngah Talib, Menteri Besar Perak Darul Ridzuan on Tuesday, may 18, 1993 at Taman Rekreasi Sungai Perak, Kuala Kangsar. The ceremony was also attended by the exco-Executive State Government, STATE ASSEMBLYMAN, YB-head – head of Department including Mr Tan Chee Beng the directors DID the State of Perak.
The ceremony attended by about 1000 people it was the commencement of commitment and effort to commit-sunguh to obtain the participation of the public to jointly care for and preserve the river. Among the activities held in conjunction with the ceremony are:-
- Releasing fish fry
- Exhibition
- Expedition
Campaign Love Kinta River involves various categories where each category will be contested for cultivating the interest of the local community towards Love River. Between the categories is the category of village security and Development Committees, school category and category Tourism. In addition, the campaign is diperbagaikan with talks awareness in schools, colouring contest, river expedition, gotong-royong and others.
SUCCESS ACHIEVED
Gotong-royong activities River is among the activities be instilling love our rivers among the local community. In addition to cleaning up rivers, these activities also involve a river beautification works such as the provision of rest facilities in rivers of the area. Between the rivers were Sungai Perak, Sungai Lalang, Kinta River, Sungai Pari, Sungkai River, River, River Water Directly, Black River Kurau and river Kuang.
