Seri Iskandar, 4 March 2021 -The Technical Visit was held by YB Senator Dato' Dr. Ahmad Masrizal bin Muhammad, Deputy Minister of Environment and Water to the Perak Tengah District, Perak.
This Technical Visit is to take a closer look at the area of the Proposed Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project Due to Floods in Parit Parliament. The three proposed project locations are in the Rimba Raja Poorest People Housing Project (PPRT), Kampung Parit 14, Mukim Bota and Sungai Senin, Mukim Layang-Layang.
PPRT Rimba Raja experienced floods due to continuous rain and water could not flow to Sungai Perak which recorded a rainfall reading of 73mm on 4 January 2021.
Rainfall in the Bukit Chermin catchment area (Felcra Bota Lambor Farm) simultaneously with the high level of Sungai Perak caused floods in Kampung Parit 14.
Erosion of the estuary of Sungai Senin is due to the increase in the flow of Sungai Senin as a result of development in Bandar Seri Iskandar.
However, the proposed short and long-term solutions through the installation of mobile pumps and the Perak Tengah Flood Mitigation Plan (RTB) are expected to be able to solve the flood problem in the area.
This visit was also attended by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Nor Hisham bin Mohd Ghazali, Director General of JPS Malaysia, YBhg. Dato' Ir. Dr. Ahmad Anuar bin Othman, Director of JPS Perak, YBrs. Mrs. Rozalinawati binti Che Roslee, Perak Tengah District Officer, YBrs. Tuan Mohd Syukri bin Azaari, Yang Di-Pertua of Perak Tengah District Council, YB Khairul Shahril bin Mohamed, ADUN Bota and YB Khairudin bin Abu Hanipah, ADUN Belanja.
