Sungai Siput, 18 October 2022 - A visit to the 'Mesra Alam' Drainage Project of Sungai Siput District, Perak Darul Ridzuan was conducted by YB Dato' Zolkafly bin Harun to review the progress of this project.
The project has been worked on since 20 August 2021 and is expected to be fully completed on 26 February 2024. It is the result of a joint venture between the Perak State Irrigation and Drainage Department and the Perak State Government to ensure that the people enjoy a more comfortable life by reducing the incidence of floods that often hit this area.
The objective of this project is to improve the capacity of the internal drainage system and the rivers involved to reduce the problem of flash floods that occur in urban areas by focusing on 4 rivers in the Mukim Sungai Siput Utara namely Sg. Buloh, Sg. Nyamuk, Sg. Bemban and Sg. Sintang costing almost RM21 million.
