8 October 2024, Bagan Serai - Chairman of Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport, Dato' Seri Mohd. Nizar bin Jamaluddin went down to Kerian District for a visit to the flood site and listened to a status briefing during the flood operation which was held at the Kerian District DPS Office. This briefing session and visit was attended by YB Noor Azman bin Ghazali, Alor Pongsu Assemblyman, Deputy Director I JPS Perak, Puan Ir. Azizah bt Mohd Sabri, JPS Kerian District Engineer, Mr. Mohd Fisham bin Abu Basah, JKR Kerian District Engineer, Mrs. Ir. Amisah bt Ahwang, representatives from the Kerian District and Land Office, Perak Water Board, mukim heads as well as Perak and JPS Perak officials.
The objective of this visit is to see the flood situation in Kg Selekoh, Alor Pongsu which is still facing the problem of standing water due to the heavy rains that occurred around the Kerian District and to see the actions taken by the District Department to overcome this flood problem.
