10 October 2024, Bagan Datuk - A meeting session and site visit regarding the preparedness of the Perak State Drainage and Irrigation Department (JPS) to face the risk of flooding due to the phenomenon of high tide and extreme heavy rainfall caused by the Northeast Monsoon Transition (MTL) were held in Bagan Datuk today.
The Director of JPS Negeri Perak, Col. Bersekutu (PA) Ir. Ts. Ahmad Shahrir bin Md. Naziri, Deputy Director 1, Ms. Ir Azizah bt Mohd Sabri, District Engineer of Hilir Perak, Ir Zamrie Bin Mansor, and officers from PETRA, JPS Perak Headquarters, and Hilir Perak District attended the meeting, which was chaired by YBrs. Mr. Norhisham bin Musa, SUBK PETRA. SUBK PETRA has also visited the damaged coastal embankment areas that require immediate repair work to prepare for the spring tide phenomenon scheduled for October 17-19, 2024, in the Bagan Datuk District.
The Perak State JPS extends millions of thanks for the concern and high commitment shown by the PETRA Ministry in ensuring the welfare of the people in Perak State in facing the flood disaster.
