THE PERAK STATE LEVEL WORLD RIVER DAY CELEBRATION PROGRAM 2023

24 September 2023, Ipoh - The Perak State Level World River Day Celebration Program and the Launch of Friends of the Sungai Kinta Basin at Sungai Pinji Pool Recreation Park have taken place. This program was officiated by the Honorable, Dato' Seri Ir. Mohamad Nizar Bin Jamaluddin, Chairman of the Perak Darul Ridzuan State Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee and was also attended by the Honorable Mr. Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad, Member of the Hulu Kinta State Assembly, Acting Director of Perak State Irrigation and Drainage, Tuan Ir. Ts. Ahmad Shahrir Bin Md. Naziri, His Excellency Mr. Meor Hezbullah Bin Meor Abd Malik, Kinta District Officer, Kinta District and Land Office, Ipoh, His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Munir Bin Ishak, Secretary of Ipoh City Council, His Excellency Mr. Faizal Parish, Director of the Global Environment Center (GEC) and Professor Zita Mohd Fahmi, Vice Chancellor of Quest International University.

The theme of this year's World Rivers Day celebration is 'Waterways in Our Community'. Various activities with the local community have been carried out. Hopefully with a celebration like this we can give awareness to all the people of the State of Perak about how important the river is in everyday life.

TREE PLANTING CEREMONY IN CONJUNCTION WITH WORLD RIVER DAY 2021 PERAK STATE LEVEL

26 September 2021, Ipoh - A tree planting ceremony at Pinggiran Sungai Pinji, Ipoh in conjunction with World Rivers Day 2021 Perak State Level was held today and was officiated by YBrs. Mr. Ir. Baharuddin bin Abdullah, Director of JPS Perak accompanied by Senior Officers of JPS Perak.

TWO DAYS VIIST TO BANDING LAKE, GERIK

Gerik, 10 December 2018 - The two-day program attended by the JPS Perak Director, YBhg. Dato' Ir. Dr. Hj. Ahmad Anuar Bin Othman with the JPS Perak and JPS District officers.

December 10, 2018 - Program starts with tracking the Rafflesia Flower at Kampung Bongor Gerik. After that, a site visit to all projects implemented by JPS Kuala Kangsar including the Sungai Air Jernih Project.

December 11, 2018 - Tour begins with a visit to Tali Kail Island, Temengor Dam and Education Island and JPS Island located at Lake Banding.

Ghazali, Director General of JPS Malaysia with his wife, Datin Noriah binti Abu Bakar visited the Sungai Kinta Rubber Dam Information Center, Ipoh accompanied by YBhg. Dato' Ir. Dr. Hj. Ahmad Anuar bin Othman, Director of JPS Perak together with JPS Perak officers.

VISIT OF THE SECRETARY OF THE PERAK STATE GOVERNMENT TO THE PERAK JPS FLOOD INFORMATION CENTER

27 November 2023, Ipoh - Director of Perak State Irrigation and Drainage, Ir. Ts. Ahmad Shahrir bin Md. Naziri, received a visit from the Secretary of the Perak State Government, YB. Dato' Ahmad Suaidi bin Abdul Rahim, to the office of JPS Perak to inspect the Flood Information Center, which is now open 24 hours a day. This visit was also attended by Lt. Col. (PA) Mohammad Azwani bin Kusnin, Deputy Director of the Perak State Civil Defense Force. This visit was done to see the preparedness of the JPS Perak in the face of rain and floods during the transition season of the northeast monsoon.

Ipoh, 19 November 2020 - Visit of the Menteri Besar of Perak Darul Ridzuan, YAB Dato' Seri Ahmad Faizal bin Dato' Ahmad Azumu with the Director of JPS Perak, YBhg. Dato' Ir. Dr. Hj. Ahmad Anuar bin Othman went to Omya Factory, Bercham to see the flood situation that has affected the area around the factory.

6 April 2021, Bagan Datuk - Working Visit and Presentation of Contributions in Conjunction with Ramadan by YB Senator Dato' Dr. Ahmad Masrizal bin Muhammad to Bagan Datuk District. Along with him are Dato' Ir. Dr. Hj. Ahmad Anuar bin Othman, Director of JPS Perak, YB Dato' Shahrul Zaman bin Yahaya, Chairman of the Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee and also Rungkup Assemblyman, YB Datuk Khairuddin bin Tarmizi, Hutan Melintang Assemblyman, District Officer of Bagan Datuk District and Land Office, Senior Officials of Ministries and JPS itself.
The tour includes a visit to the Rungkup Pump House and Penikam Bay.

WORKING VISIT TO THE 'MESRA ALAM' DRAINAGE PROJECT AND RELATED WORKS, SUNGAI SIPUT DISTRICT, PERAK DARUL RIDZUAN

Sungai Siput, 18 October 2022 - A visit to the 'Mesra Alam' Drainage Project of Sungai Siput District, Perak Darul Ridzuan was conducted by YB Dato' Zolkafly bin Harun to review the progress of this project.

The project has been worked on since 20 August 2021 and is expected to be fully completed on 26 February 2024. It is the result of a joint venture between the Perak State Irrigation and Drainage Department and the Perak State Government to ensure that the people enjoy a more comfortable life by reducing the incidence of floods that often hit this area.

The objective of this project is to improve the capacity of the internal drainage system and the rivers involved to reduce the problem of flash floods that occur in urban areas by focusing on 4 rivers in the Mukim Sungai Siput Utara namely Sg. Buloh, Sg. Nyamuk, Sg. Bemban and Sg. Sintang costing almost RM21 million.
