Ipoh, 14 June 2022 - The 30th Conference of Senior Managers and District Engineers of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia was held in Perak and was officiated by the Minister of Environment and Water, YB Dato 'Sri Tuan Ibrahim bin Tuan Man. It is an annual program that aims to provide space and opportunities for all Management and Professional staff (Grade J48 and above), District Engineers, Cadre Officers and Public Relations Officers to gather as well as discuss and add knowledge on current issues of the Department. This conference was attended by almost 400 participants from all over Malaysia.

Ipoh, 14 July 2022 - A visit with YB Dato' Zolkafly bin Harun, YB Dato' Seri Ir. Nizar, DUN Sungai Rapat, JPS Perak Senior Officer, MBI Drainage District Engineer and Dato' Hang Tuah KUB Gopeng to the flood risk areas in Sungai Rapat housing area involving Sungai Pinji and Sungai Rapat. As a result of this visit, JPS Perak intends to provide additional catchment ponds in the area to reduce the risk of flash floods. Next, maintain and clean the bushes and grass areas in Sungai Pinji and Sungai Rapat that block the passage of water and garbage. The MBI will maintain the catchment areas in the  Sungai Rapat housing estate.

Ipoh, 13 July 2022 - A visit was made to address the issue of flash floods in the Canning DUN area together with YB Dato' Zolkafly bin Harun, YB Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, Canning ADUN, Kinta District DID Engineer, Senior Officer of River Operations & Maintenance Division and Drainage Engineer of Ipoh City Council.
The purpose of this visit was to review the condition of Sungai Senam which often has flash floods, especially in the area of ​​Sungai Senam Police Station and the General Operations Force (PGA) Office. The main cause was due to heavy rain on 15 June 2022, with the reception of heavy rain/storm observations exceeding 100mm in the area.
The result of discussions, a short-term action will be taken by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) to upgrade the existing culvert by using the pipe jerking crossing method at the four intersection of Jalan Hospital while JPS will dredge the river, clean the grass and upgrade the river tires to reduce the risk of flooding in the area.

27 July 2023, Ipoh - Director of JPS Perak, Ir. Ts. Ahmad Shahrir Bin Md. Naziri paid a courtesy visit to the Director of Plan Malaysia@Perak, Gs. Mohamed Zamri Bin Mohd Zain and was joined by Puan Sumiliana Binti Sulong and Puan Eda Edayu Binti Anuar from the Urban Drainage and Flood Mitigation Division of JPS Perak. All projects planned by the JPS Perak can be implemented and provide perfect services to all the people of Perak State.
