The Role and Responsibilities of the Chief Digital Officer (CDO)
1. Leading digitalization initiatives to provide service delivery that meets the needs and experiences of the people, is safe, efficient, smart, and reliable.
- Accelerating the direction of digitalization based on the Digitalization Strategic Plan (DSP) within the department thru a data-driven, people-centric culture and security-focused service design.
- Transforming the delivery of digital services in customer experience-focused departments, based on a Whole-of-Government approach, thru innovation involving data sharing, open data, and emerging technologies.
- Designing and coordinating the cybersecurity action plan to ensure the department's data and ICT infrastructure are always protected from internal and external threats.
- Designing and evaluating digital service needs, service design, and the necessary development and management budgets.
2. Leading digital transformation thru the use of data and technology in line with the government's current policies/plans.
- Designing and ensuring the implementation of digitalization changes is aligned with the Government's current policies/plans, which are aligned with the department.
- Creating a digital environment and culture within the department to enhance digital literacy and understanding of technology usage toward empowering the delivery of digital government services.
3. Participating in and reporting on the implementation of digitalization to relevant governance bodies.
- Serving on committees by performing roles based on the relevant committee's terms of reference according to the prevailing circulars.
- Reporting on the implementation and progress status of digitalization transformation to relevant digitalization governance bodies such as JPICT and Digital Government Meetings.
