June 11, 2026, Lumut – The Perak State Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perak Branch Seri Iskandar, the Environmental Sustainability Secretariat (SKAS), Manjung Municipal Council (MPM), and Friends of the Environment (KUASA) organized the World Water Day Celebration at the Perak State Level for 2026 and an Environmental Awareness Program at Teluk Senangin Beach, Lumut.
This program was completed by the Chairman of the Science, Environment, and Green Technology Committee of Perak State, YB Mr. Teh Kok Lim, who was also accompanied by the Director of the Perak State JPS, YBrs. Ir. Dr. Asnor Muizan bin Dato' Haji Ishak.
Also present to enliven the program were YDH Toh Kelana Perkasa Encik Ismail bin Haji Balua, Orang Besar 32 Negeri Perak; Encik Mohd Helmi bin Arifin, Secretary of the Manjung Municipal Council; Prof. Dr. Muhamad Abdul Aziz bin Ab Gani, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Industrial Networking at UiTM Perak; Puan Tun Noraida binti Nikman, Assistant District Officer (Community Development), as well as officers from the Perak State JPS, Manjung District JPS, MPM, SKAS, and lecturers and students from UiTM Perak Branch Seri Iskandar.
Various activities were carried out throughout the program, including gotong-royong activities, mural painting, landscape tree planting, interactive quiz sessions, briefings on water resources and the environment, as well as waste audit activities to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental and water resource conservation.
The organization of this program is hoped to ignite the spirit of cooperation among government agencies, educational institutions, and the local community in fostering awareness and shared responsibility toward environmental sustainability for the well-being of future generations.
