22 July 2025, PUTRAJAYA - The Opening Ceremony of the Malaysia Water Forum 2025 was officiated by YAB Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation. Also present at the ceremony were YBhg. Dato' Mohd Rodzwan bin Mohd Baba Sakri, Deputy Secretary General (Water Sector), Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) and YBrs. Engineer. Mohamad Radzi bin Abdul Talib, Director General of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia and Chairman of the Malaysia Water Partnership (MyWP).
JPS Negeri Perak was represented by the Director, Ir. Dr. Asnor Muizan bin Dato' Haji Ishak, Kinta/Batang Padang District Engineer, Ir. Salfarina binti Mohd. Sharif and Senior Assistant Director of the Corporate Division, Ir. Mohd Shamimi Mohd Tahir.
The purpose of this forum is to assess and discuss challenges, as well as explore new opportunities and solutions in water resource management in Malaysia. Focus will be given to issues such as water distribution imbalances, pollution, as well as the need for early warning systems and more resilient groundwater management.
