October 24, 2025, Taiping - The Honorable Engineer. Dr. Asnor Muizan bin Dato' Haji Ishak immediately rushed to Taiping as soon as he was informed that the areas around the Larut, Matang, and Selama districts were flooded after prolonged rainfall since yesterday. Several places have been visited, including the Kampung Changkat Larah area.
An emergency meeting was also held this morning at the Flood Operations Room of the Larut Matang and Selama District and Land Office, which was chaired by the LMS District Officer, Tuan Mohd Nasrul bin Menhat, along with the heads of departments and agencies involved in the district.
Also present were the District Engineer of JPS LMS, Mr. Fazli bin Ali Hassan, and the Head Assistant Director of the Mechanical and Electrical Services Division, Ir. Baharuddin bin Ibrahim, Senior Assistant Director of Water Resources, Hydrology and Dams, Encik Hafiz bin Ahmad, Senior Assistant Director of the Corporate Division, Ir. Mohd Shamimi bin Mohd Tahir and the Assistant District Engineer of JPS LMS, Ts. Zul Haimi Bin Kamal.
Several areas in Perak were hit by floods following heavy rain since yesterday morning, affecting the LMS and Manjung districts. As of 8 am today, 22 Temporary Evacuation Centers (PPS) have been opened to accommodate 2,171 victims from 759 families.
