May 4, 2026, Bukit Merah – Immediately after the Customer Engagement Day Program Series 3 held at the Kerian District Administration Complex, a Stakeholder Engagement and Bukit Merah Dam Safety Briefing Program was held in the afternoon. The briefing was delivered by the District Engineer of JPS Kerian, Ts. Mohamad Nor Hafiz bin Noor Azmi.

Also present was the Honorable Dato’ Seri Ir. Muhammad Nizar bin Jamaluddin, Chairman of the Infrastructure, Energy, Water, and Public Transport Committee of Perak State; Director of the Perak State Irrigation and Drainage Department, YBrs. Ir. Dr. Asnor Muizan bin Dato’ Haji Ishak; ADUN Alor Pongsu, YB Noor Azman Ghazali; ADUN Selinsing, YB Sallehuddin Abdullah; heads of departments at the district level; as well as representatives of the village residents around the Bukit Merah Dam.

This program is held with the aim of briefing the local community, as well as identifying emerging issues and raising awareness about safety aspects in the dam area. Thru the organization of this program, it is hoped that the cooperative relationship between the department and the local community can be strengthened, thereby enabling more effective communication of information related to dam management and safety. This effort is also seen as capable of enhancing the residents' level of preparedness in facing any potential emergency incidents, thereby contributing to the overall well-being and safety of the community.
